Lovely Hotel – well designed

I stayed 2 nights in a Superior single room at Champion Hotel. The hotel location is great, near the start of Joo Chiat road, opposite the Joo Chiat Complex which has a handy Supermarket and taxi rank. One KM Mall, Haig Road food centre and stalls, and Geylang Serai Market and food stalls are nearby so there are food options all around.

The hotel lobby is very stylish and staff looked after my luggage as I arrived at 10.30am which was too early to check-in. I went out for a walk and when I returned at 1pm my room was ready. I was given a code for free wifi, which worked very well.

My single room on the 3rd floor was quite large and had plenty of bench and storage space, a safe, mini-fridge, kettle and tea and coffee supplies. They also provided bottled water each day. The bathroom was very clean, modern and had a large shower area. Plenty of toiletries and a hairdryer were supplied.

The bed was extremely comfortable and an extra pillow was available. I slept very well and didn’t hear much noise from other rooms on my level. Housekeeping were prompt and my room was made up by 1pm. The room was extremely clean and tidy.

I found the location very good as I know the area quite well. I had a couple of long walks down to East Coast road, 112 Katong Mall, Parkway Parade and to East Coast Park.

Champion Hotel caters well to solo travellers and this was the best single room I have ever stayed in. It’s a great small hotel for people needing a stopover to rest between flights, or for people like myself who want to stay here longer to experience more of this great area of Singapore. I will definitely choose to stay again next trip.
